The Floristry Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) is a nationally recognized certification of skills training developed by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA). It is a competency-based training and assessment based on skills, knowledge and attributes needed for the floristry-related industry.
There are 4 qualifications under the Floristry WSQ targeted at different Floristry occupations. Each qualification reflects the particular level of acquired competency, and forms the basis of career-based training and upgrading pathways as well as the recognition of attained skills.
The qualifications are made up of 2 components:
1. Core Units
These units equip workers with essential skills required of employees in order to undertake the primary job functions.
2. Elective Units
These units trains workers in vocational skills required of employees to be competent in performing certain aspects of the jobs or generic skills that will help employees in the course of work.
The duration of each unit ranges from 16-40 hours. The minimum and maximum number of hours needed to complete the respective qualifications is listed in the table below:

The Floristry worker may take any unit he or she wishes, as long as his or her employer deems it as relevant. However, the worker has to plan the units that he or she will be taking if he or she intends to attain a qualification, as this requires a specific combination of Core and Elective units. For example, in order to attain WSQ Certificate in Floristry Operations, a Floristry worker has to attain a combination of 8 Core and 2 Elective units.
